Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation`s Wild Child Summer Camp is an award-winning, week-long day camp designed for kids ages 8-12 who love nature and want to increase knowledge and awareness of the natural world. This summer campers can choose from 3 different themes including Outdoor Skills, Junior Naturalist Camp, and Nature of Art to connect with nature and fellow nature-enthusiasts! Each week will include lots of time outdoors, hands-on educational activities, hiking, arts & crafts, and games.

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation highlighting Girls and Women in Sports the month of February:
Katrina M. Adams is an American tennis executive and former professional tennis player from Chicago. She was president and CEO of the United States Tennis Association and chair of the US Open, as well as the chair of the International Tennis Federation Fed Cup and Gender Equality in Tennis committees. As a player, Adams was a doubles specialist, reaching the quarterfinal stage or better at all four Grand Slams as well as achieving a career-high doubles ranking of no. 8. Her book, Own the Arena: Getting Ahead, Making a Difference, and Succeeding as the Only One was published in 2021.
Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, will offer a T-Ball League ages 4-5. This program will provide a Tee Ball experience that is grounded in fun, fitness and fundamentals. Young players in this age bracket will build confidence as they practice hitting a ball off a Tee, running bases, catching and throwing. All interested in coaching a team, being a team mom and a volunteer, please attend the meeting. We will provide all of the information, forms and deadlines at the meeting.
This program is only for enrolled Caddo Head Start Students. You must be enrolled in the program to participate.
Coaches Organizational Meeting:
February 21, 2024, 6:00 pm, at Hersey D. Wilson Head Start Center, 4055 St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA (in the gym).
Season begins the week of April 1, 2024.
Team Registration, Background Checks and Coaches Certification is required.
Player registration fee $10.00.
