Volunteer Naturalist Training

Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park is looking for people to join its volunteer naturalist program to assist with nature education and special events.

Minimum age is 18, although teens 16 and older can volunteer if accompanied by a parent or guardian. And persons aged 12-15 who have have graduated the Walter B Jacobs Memorial Nature Park Jr. Naturalist program are permitted with parent or guardian on premises while volunteering or participating in volunteer training.

To become a volunteer team member, completion of two training sessions is mandatory.

Training will be held Tuesday, March from 15 to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 17 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at Walter Jacobs Nature Park, 8012 Blanchard Furrh Road, Shreveport. You must attend both sessions.

Training will include an overview of the park, programs and animal handling.
