SUMMARY:Spring Break Zombie Survival Camp
DESCRIPTION:DATE/TIME: March 9-13\, 2026 \nWHERE: Eddie Jones\, Earl G. Williamson\, Richard Fleming\, Caddo Common Parks\, and Shreveport Regional Arts Council \nCaddo Parks and Recreation will facilitate an inclusive program that combines athletics\, recreation\, and nature education for our Caddo Parish youth while out of school. The goal of this program is to provide our campers with 5 days of fun\, creative\, and educational skills to help them survive in nature. This will be a 5-day program during the Caddo Parish spring break. In addition\, this camp aims to provide safe\, engaging activities during spring break.  \nThe cost of this camp is $75/youth. Jacobs Nature Center\, promising a night filled with owls\, nature\, and nighttime discovery. \nJoin us on Saturday\, February 14\, 2026\, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center (8012 Blanchard Furrh Rd\, Shreveport\, LA 71107) for an evening designed for all ages. Owl Night invites the community to meet live owls\, explore their nighttime world\, and enjoy a wide range of hands-on and educational experiences. Admission is free and open to the public. \nOwl Night features live owl encounters\, owl-inspired art activities\, guided night hikes\, owl story time with Shreve Memorial Library\, and naturalist presentations by local experts. DESCRIPTION:Art in the Park is an annual celebration of art and nature featuring local artists from the Caddo Parish and surrounding areas\, live music\, art activities\, and more!\n\nSHREVEPORT\, LA-Art in the Park\, an annual celebration of art and nature\, is growing this year adding more artists\, vendors\, and activities. Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the event at Richard Fleming Park on Saturday\, November 8 from noon to 4:00pm. Visitors are invited to enjoy art\, music\, and food in a beautiful autumn forest.\nArt in the Park features more than 50 local and regional artists who find inspiration in nature and either depict nature in their work or use natural materials as their medium. Visitors will find a wide variety of art for sale from paintings and photography to stone tools and pottery. Artists provide live demonstrations throughout the event in flintknapping\, pottery throwing\, pine-needle basket weaving\, painting\, needle-felting\, and more.\n\nSeveral local arts and nature organizations including Shreve Memorial Library\, Sciport Discovery Center\, Shreveport Aquarium\, La La La Sing\, Volunteer Naturalists of Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park\, Red River National Wildlife Refuge and Shreveport Regional Arts Council will lead hands-on art activities for all ages. Park Naturalist Hulya Onel will lead her popular painting workshops for older youth and adults.\nLive entertainment will include Twang Darkly\, from noon to 1:30pm\, followed by Peregrine (formerly Benedetto) from 1:30pm-2:30pm\, and then QMajor with Native to the Parish from 2:30pm – 4:00pm.\n\nThe Hot Dawg Hut\, Oki Eatz\, Critter’s Corral\, and Sneaux Mobile Express will sell refreshments.\n\nAdmission and all activities are free.\nThe event address is 7919 West Lakeshore Drive\, Shreveport\, LA 71107.
