All workout sessions are conducted by certified USA Weightlifting instructors. This program is for youth (children) ages 8 – 18. Cost: $50.00 for an annual USA Wannual USA Weightlifting membership. SUMMARY:MLB Pitch Hit and Run/Jr. Home Run Derby
DESCRIPTION:Caddo Parish MLB Pitch Hit and Run/Jr. Home Run Derby Competition will be held on July 16\, 2026.  MLB Pitch Hit & Run (PHR) and MLB Jr. Home Run Derby (JrHRD) are free\, one-day competitions that are easy to execute for players ages 4-14. PHR is the Official Skills Competition of MLB – providing youth the opportunity to show off their fundamental baseball/softball skills\, and JrHRD is a fun competition that provides baseball players the chance to display their hitting power.  The Jr. Home Run Derby is being held as a local competition only (no advancements). The competition is open to all boys and girls aged 7-14 and under.  All participants compete together in one of two age groups (12U or 14U). DESCRIPTION:Join Park Naturalist Hulya Onel to learn all about birds\, herps\, plants\, mammals\, insects\, and ecology. We study a different biology subject every other month throughout the year. Once you complete all six workshops\, you will receive a certificate\, a field guide of your interest and you will get to keep the course book prepared by the Park Naturalist. Once you are a Certified Junior Naturalist of WBJMNP\, you will also be eligible to join Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park Junior Naturalists Club!The mission of the Junior Naturalists Program is to foster an understanding and appreciation of Northwest Louisiana’s plants\, water\, soil\, and wildlife\, and to promote good stewardship. This program will be ongoing\, and the missing classes can be made up when they are offered again. This workshop is designed for ages 7 to 12. DESCRIPTION:Calling all area Disc Golfers! Caddo Parish Park and Recreation Department and Shreveport-Bossier Disc Golf Union have joined forces to host the Inaugural Earl G. Williamson Classic Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday\, August 22\, 2026. The tournament will be held at the beautiful Earl G. Williamson Park\, located at 11425 LA Hwy.1 in Oil City\, LA.\nThis will be a 2-round\, 18-hole tournament for players of all skill levels (Junior to Pro Open)\, ages 12 and older.\n\nThere will be a 45-player cap\, and various prizes will be awarded to top finishers in respective divisions.\n\nEntry fees will range from $25 – $55 per person\, pending player division. Also\, there will be an additional $15 fee for players without a current Professional Disc Golf Association membership.\nOnline registration is required!
