DESCRIPTION:EVENT: Youth Weightlifting Program / USA Weightlifting\n \nDATE(S): Monday – Thursday and Saturdays \nTIME(S): 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Monday – Thursday) and 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Saturdays)\nWHERE: LSU-Shreveport USA Weightlifting Center for High Performance and Development (Health & Physical Education Building\, One University Place\, Shreveport) \n  \nINFORMATION: Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation is partnering with LSU-Shreveport’s nationally recognized youth weightlifting program\, offering weightlifting-specific skill training\, combined with strength and conditioning that is accessible and challenging for beginners to intermediate-level weightlifters. All workout sessions are conducted by certified USA Weightlifting instructors. This program is for youth (children) ages 8 – 18. Cost: $50.00 for an annual USA Wannual USA Weightlifting membership. SUMMARY:MLB Pitch Hit and Run/Jr. Home Run Derby
DESCRIPTION:Caddo Parish MLB Pitch Hit and Run/Jr. Home Run Derby Competition will be held on June 18\, 2026.  MLB Pitch Hit & Run (PHR) and MLB Jr. Home Run Derby (JrHRD) are free\, one-day competitions that are easy to execute for players ages 4-14. PHR is the Official Skills Competition of MLB – providing youth the opportunity to show off their fundamental baseball/softball skills\, and JrHRD is a fun competition that provides baseball players the chance to display their hitting power.  The Jr. Home Run Derby is being held as a local competition only (no advancements). The competition is open to all boys and girls aged 7-14 and under.  All participants compete together in one of two age groups (12U or 14U).
