SUMMARY:OWL NIGHT RETURNS IN 2026 AT THE NEW WALTER B. JACOBS NATURE CENTER
DESCRIPTION:Caddo Parish\, LA – This year\, Owl Night returns at the new Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center\, promising a night filled with owls\, nature\, and nighttime discovery. \nJoin us on Saturday\, February 14\, 2026\, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center (8012 Blanchard Furrh Rd\, Shreveport\, LA 71107) for an evening designed for all ages. Owl Night invites the community to meet live owls\, explore their nighttime world\, and enjoy a wide range of hands-on and educational experiences. Admission is free and open to the public. \nOwl Night features live owl encounters\, owl-inspired art activities\, guided night hikes\, owl story time with Shreve Memorial Library\, and naturalist presentations by local experts. Guests can also enjoy complimentary hot chocolate\, make-your-own s’mores\, and food trucks on site. \n“We are excited to bring back one of our community’s most beloved events\, and to our reimagined Nature Center\,” said Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Education Coordinator Anne Lutz. “Owl Night offers a variety of fun and engaging programming for the whole family\, and we encourage everyone to come out\, enjoy the activities and the new Nature Center\,” said Lutz. \nLocal artists and vendors are a vital part of the unique atmosphere Owl Night is known for\, and will be on site featuring their nature inspired art and items for sale. \nFor questions or more information\, please call the Walter B. DESCRIPTION:Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation\, in conjunction with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and local Fitness Instructors\, is proud to offer a wide variety of free health and fitness classes. Health and Fitness Thursday’s goal is to promote and bring awareness to the importance of living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.\nBring the entire family out for an evening of Dance Fitness\, Line Dancing\, Aerobics\, walking\, nutritional literacy information\, and more on the following dates:\nJanuary 8\, January 15\, January 22\, and January 29\nFebruary 5\, February 12\, February 19\, and February 26\nAll sessions take place at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.\nWear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. An exercise mat and hand weights are also suggested.\nThe event is free to the public\nPlease consult your doctor before starting any exercise regimen and for modifications that best meet your individual needs.
