Night Hike at Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center

October 17 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
To register, call us at 318-929-2806 OR register online by scanning the QR code.
During your 45-minute hike, Parks Senior Naturalist Hulya Onel and Naturalist Dillon Soderstrom will guide you along a 1/4-mile Ozark trail through the deep-dark forest, where you’ll engage in several 5-senses activities. See, feel, hear, smell, and taste your way through the dark!
This night hike is free from artificial light so we can experiment with our senses! It takes almost 45 minutes for your night vision to fully develop, and one flash of light resets the process!
When registering, visitors will understand and agree to the following:
• No flashlights needed or allowed.
o Children are not allowed to hold or carry flashlights or any other device that lights up on the hike.
• Smartwatches need to be taken off and put in a pocket, bag, or car.
• No light-up shoes or glow-in-the-dark clothing:
• Cell phones should be left in the car, turned off, or tucked safely away in a bag for the duration of the hike.
• This program is for adults. Children ages 6 and above can join with one adult per child.
• PLEASE BE HERE 10 MINUTES BEFORE HIKE!!!
