    The Parish of Caddo Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for providing quality of life/leisure services to Caddo Parish citizens and visitors. The department maintains 16 sites throughout the Parish that include boat launches, ball fields, RV campground, multi-use trails, playgrounds and a nature center featuring a staffed visitor center with exhibits and live animals.

    Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation hosted its Youth Baseball Skills and Drills Clinic on March 25 at Captain Shreve Baseball Field in partnership with Captain Shreve Baseball Coach, Coach Todd, and his team! ⚾

    Over 60 youth participants received hands-on instruction focused on the fundamentals of the game, including hitting off the tee, throwing, and catching. Coach Todd and his players helped create a fun and educational experience for all involved.

    Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation proudly showed support for Childhood Obesity Awareness on Saturday, March 28 at Bill Cockrell Recreation Tennis Center.

    Participants got moving with a fun warm-up, danced their way through the event, and “walked it out” for 3 miles! 💃🚶‍♂️ Community resources were also on site, providing valuable health tips and information to encourage healthier lifestyles.

    Caddo Parish T-Ball and Coach Pitch League Registration Season starts the week of June 1, 2026, /Game Schedule will be provided. Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation to offer a T-Ball (3-6) and Coach Pitch League (7-8). This program will provide a Tee Ball and Coach Pitch experience that is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals. Young players in this age bracket will build confidence as they practice hitting a ball off a Tee, hitting coach pitches, running bases, catching, and throwing. Registration is required. Online registration at www.caddoparks.org. Player entry fee is $10.00. Players' registration Deadline April 10, 2026 (online). For additional information, contact Mary Murphy at mmurphy@caddo.gov or (318) 220-6284.

    Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Coaches/Parents Wee Ball, T-Ball, and Coach Pitch League Organizational Meeting, February 10, 2026, at 6pm-7pm, at Morning Star Baptist, 5340 Jewella Ave., Shreveport, LA. 71109. This meeting is to discuss the league rules, policies, and procedures, required paperwork, and hard deadlines. Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation will offer a Wee Ball ages 3, T-Ball League ages 4-6, and Coach Pitch ages 7-8. This program will provide a Tee Ball/Baseball experience that is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals. Caddo Parish is seeking coaches, team moms, and volunteers. If you are interested in being a part of the coaching team or would just like to sign your child up, please come to the meeting.
