    The Parish of Caddo Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for providing quality of life/leisure services to Caddo Parish citizens and visitors. The department maintains 16 sites throughout the Parish that include boat launches, ball fields, RV campground, multi-use trails, playgrounds and a nature center featuring a staffed visitor center with exhibits and live animals.

    Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation will sponsor a two-day general skills and drills basketball camp, July 22-23, 2026, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, at LSUS, 1 University Pl, Shreveport, LA 71115, grades K-4th-8th. This camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game of basketball.

    Registration is required at www.caddoparks.org. Click on Citizen Portal and create an account. The registration fee is $15.00

    Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation hosted its 2026 Baseball Social on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Pinchback Park to celebrate the Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, and Live Arm teams and recognize the players and coaches for a successful season.

    More than 300 young athletes and 35 dedicated coaches participated in this year’s baseball program, with coaches investing their time and talents to teach the fundamentals of the game while encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence.

    The evening was filled with fun as players and their families enjoyed music, dancing, baseball, basketball, and cornhole. Despite a rainy season, the teams made the most of every dry day, competing at Pinchback Park and Galilee Baseball Field.

    Throughout the season, Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation provided uniforms, snacks, hydration, and a meal at each game, helping ensure every player had a positive and rewarding experience.

    The 2026 baseball season was a tremendous success, and Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation extends its sincere appreciation to the players, coaches, families, and supporters who made it such a memorable year.     ... See MoreSee Less

    "Girl, You Got It" Basketball and Empowerment Camp Ages: 6- 14 (girls only) Date/Time: July 14, 2026, 9 am -2 pm Venue: LSU-Shreveport Gymnasium 1 University Pl, Shreveport, LA 71115 Registration Deadline: July 8, 2026 Cost: $20.00 Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Shantel Hardison, will host this unique camp to assist campers with refining their fundamental basketball skills. They will also receive encouraging motivation that will help them to achieve their life goals. In addition to the basketball skills/drills component, all campers will be required to attend a series of age-appropriate workshop presentations. Topics to include: - Self-esteem / Empowerment / Mental Health - Substance Abuse and Opioids - Nutrition Tips / Wellness - Bullying / Cyberbullying - Relationships & Dating Violence - Social Media Platforms “Do’s and Don’ts” - College Recruiting / Eligibility Process Registration is required.
