The Parish of Caddo Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for providing quality of life/leisure services to Caddo Parish citizens and visitors. The department maintains 16 sites throughout the Parish that include boat launches, ball fields, RV campground, multi-use trails, playgrounds and a nature center featuring a staffed visitor center with exhibits and live animals.

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation hosted its 2026 Seniors Day in the Park on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Richard Fleming Park.
More than 70 seniors gathered for a fun-filled day at the park enjoying Bingo for flowers, dancing, music, and fellowship. Lunch was provided by Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, making the event even more special for attendees.
Vendors were also on site sharing important health information and providing health checks for participants.

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation hosted its Lupus Awareness Health Fair today, May 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pinchback Park.
The event began with a warm welcome to all attendees and special recognition for those courageously fighting against Lupus. The program then opened with a blessing before participants kicked off the morning walk led by Tomeka Anderson of Partners Who Train. Participants were encouraged and motivated to walk for 30 minutes while striving to conquer three miles.
Guests also had the opportunity to visit vendors on site, while St. Luke’s Medical Ministry provided free health checks for attendees. The energy continued with fan popping and line dancing instruction led by Stephanie McCray, bringing excitement and fun to the event. Lunch was also provided for participants.
This was truly an amazing program supporting an amazing cause.
