The Parish of Caddo Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for providing quality of life/leisure services to Caddo Parish citizens and visitors. The department maintains 16 sites throughout the Parish that include boat launches, ball fields, RV campground, multi-use trails, playgrounds and a nature center featuring a staffed visitor center with exhibits and live animals.

The Caddo Parish Lupus Awareness Health Fair on May 16, 2026, at Pinchback Park, 7903 Jefferson Paige Road, Shreveport, LA., 9 am – 12 pm, aims to educate the community, raise awareness, and highlight the long-term, day-to-day health impacts of lupus. Health professionals will serve as guest presenters, and on-site wellness screenings will be available. Light fitness activities will be offered. Please dress comfortably and wear purple.
A healthy lunch and T-shirts will be provided to the first 50 participants who register and attend the health fair. The event is open to seniors, youth, and adults.

World Lupus Day is May 10 – Let’s make Lupus visible together. Wear purple!
Services offered will include:
• St. Luke’s Mobile Medical Ministry brings Wellness to You
• Blood pressure and glucose checks
• Programs provided by LSUS AGU
• Screenings and exams
• Chair aerobics, line dancing, and fitness to get the heart pumping
• Services, health care resources, and an information booth
