We are telling #ourparkandrecstory to celebrate Park & Recreation month this July!
Did you know the Volunteer Naturalists of Walter B Jacobs Memorial Nature Park have become an invaluable part of Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park since the program’s inception in July of 2016. To date the Volunteer Naturalist Program has contributed More than $40,000 worth of time worked to the Parish of Caddo!
The Volunteer Naturalists contribute their time, creativity, and expertise, which furthers the park’s mission and allows the staff to greatly increase the quality and number of engaging experiences offered to the public.
In addition, this program offers the volunteers themselves the opportunity to engage with the Parish of Caddo organization, the public, and our shared public lands in positive and rewarding ways. Volunteer Naturalists can also use this program to earn community service hours, build their resumes, gain valuable skills and knowledge, and have amazing and unique experiences that can’t be found anywhere else in the Parish, state, or even the country for that matter. The Volunteer Naturalist Program of Walter B Jacobs Memorial Nature Park is truly a win-win situation.
Want to join us? Keep an eye on our website www.caddo.parks.org for the next Volunteer Naturalist Training to be scheduled this fall.
