The Parish of Caddo Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for providing quality of life/leisure services to Caddo Parish citizens and visitors. The department maintains 16 sites throughout the Parish that include boat launches, ball fields, RV campground, multi-use trails, playgrounds and a nature center featuring a staffed visitor center with exhibits and live animals.

Caddo Parish, in conjunction with Gingerbread House and GEYA (Giving Education Your All), a nonprofit dedicated to bridging the gap between school, home, and community through dynamic programming and meaningful family-centered events on December 20, 2025, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at Festival Plaza, 101 Crockett St., Shreveport.
This year, we are introducing an exciting new feature sponsored by Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, The Energy Zone, a high-energy, health-focused activation space designed to promote physical activity, wellness, and movement for all ages. Bring the entire family out for a day of movement, wellness, and fun! This event is free!

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, in partnership with United Healthcare, hosted a Turkey and Ham Giveaway on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Oil City Community Center. A total of 128 turkeys and 98 hams were distributed while supplies lasted.
