Caddo Parish and D1 Training Announce Partnership

CADDO PARISH AND D1 TRAINING JOIN FORCES

TO ADDRESS HEALTH AND WELLNESS FOR CADDO PARISH YOUTH

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation has joined forces with D1 Training Shreveport to offer a variety of free health and wellness training programs for Caddo Parish middle school students, physical education teachers and athletic coaches, aiming to improve the overall health and wellness of Caddo Parish youth.

Throughout the remainder of 2021 and continuing into 2022, Caddo Parish middle school students will participate in several health and wellness field day activities hosted at D1 Training, located at 727 American Way, Shreveport, LA 71106.  All fitness activities will be led by nationally certified speed and strength coaches. Professional development training will also be available for middle school physical education teachers and athletic coaches.

Fitness activities and training will include run and jump training, agility training, strength training, nutrition education and additional fun games and activities.

“We are excited to establish this public-private partnership with D1 Training Shreveport and combine our resources,” said Caddo Parks and Recreation director Patrick Wesley. “This collaboration will improve the overall health and wellness of our Caddo Parish middle school students and enhance quality of life, and hopefully will serve as a model public-private partnership for other entities locally and statewide,” said Wesley.
