Caddo Parish, LA – Earl G. Williamson Park, located at 11425 LA-1, Oil City, LA is undergoing several park improvements, including a major electrical upgrade, and is now scheduled to reopen for late 2022.
“We know the community is excited for the reopening of one of the Parish’s most popular parks,” said Caddo Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Doug Rainwater. “ We’ve had a few delays due to weather conditions and supply issues, but we’re confident park users will be thrilled with the new and improved facilities once completed,” said Rainwater.
The boat launch and adjacent parking areas for boaters and fishing population will remain open throughout the entire construction/park improvement process; recreational fishing and boating will not be affected.
Park improvements include:
- Major upgrades to the park’s electrical system
- Installation of new fishing pier
- Installation of new ballfield lights
- Ballfield upgrades
- Addition of a 9 hole disc golf course
- Restroom upgrades
- Sidewalk upgrades
- Installation of new park signage and welcome kiosk
- Installation of new trash receptacles
