We regret to inform you that Talontine’s Day, originally scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Richard Fleming Park, has been officially canceled due to the threat of severe weather. The forecast predicts high winds, strong thunderstorms, and a 99% chance of rain throughout the day, creating unsafe conditions for an outdoor event.

While we are disappointed, the safety of our participants, volunteers, and community members is our top priority. We appreciate all of the hard work and enthusiasm you put into preparing for this event, and we hope to bring it back bigger and better in the future.

Celebrate the day after Valentine’s Day with a wild twist at Talon-tine’s Day! Where Love Bites and Talons Strike. This unique event swaps the sweet side to get wild. Come see an exciting showcase of Birds of Prey, including hawks, owls and other things that might like to CHOMP!

Event Highlights:

Meet awe-inspiring birds up close and learn about their powerful adaptations and hunting prowess.
Famed Louisiana Artist Don Edwards and friends will have booths showcasing beautiful Birds of Prey works of art.
Hoot & Talon Trivia- Test your knowledge of raptor calls and compete in a live BOP Calling Contest and win a prize.
Talon Craft Stations- Make your own talon or feathered craft to take home as a keepsake.
Bird of Prey Photo Op- Use our props to become a BOP for photos.
Food Trucks for a Wild Bite
