The department maintains 16 sites throughout the Parish that include boat launches, ball fields, RV campground, multi-use trails, playgrounds and a nature center featuring a staffed visitor center with exhibits and live animals.

“CADDO’S RISING STAR: BE CADDO’S 12TH STAR”
TALENT COMPETITION
Young performers invited to represent the Parish and compete for $5,000 grand prize

CADDO PARISH, LA – Caddo Parish is calling on its brightest young performers to take the stage and become the Parish’s next star. The Parish of Caddo has announced the launch of “Caddo’s Rising Star: Be Caddo’s 12th Star,” a new parish-wide talent competition designed to showcase the extraordinary abilities of young people across Caddo Parish.

The name of the competition carries special meaning, as Caddo Parish is home to 11 municipalities, and the winner of the competition will earn the distinction of becoming Caddo’s “12th Star”, representing the talent and creativity found throughout the parish.

Open to students ages 6 through 19, the competition welcomes contestants from across Caddo Parish in a variety of categories, including:
• Vocal
• Musical Performance
• Dance & Movement
• Theatrical, Creative & Performing Arts
• Comedy
• Magic & Illusions
• Acting
• Poetry / Spoken Word

“Caddo Parish is brimming with untapped talent,” said Caddo Parish Commission President Gregory Young. “Our parish is made up of eleven unique municipalities, each contributing to the culture and vibrancy of our community. Through ‘Caddo’s Rising Star,’ we’re inviting young performers from across our parish to step into the spotlight and compete to become our 12th Star and a symbol of the creativity, passion, and potential that exists right here in Caddo Parish,” said Young.

Contestants will participate in a series of live auditions and qualifying rounds before a panel of industry and celebrity judges. From those rounds, the top twelve performers will advance to the Caddo’s Rising Star Finale.

The finale will take place Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Shreveport Convention Center and will be broadcast live on KTBS, giving finalists the opportunity to perform live, reaching hundreds of thousand viewers. The winner will earn the title of “Caddo’s Rising Star” and receive an exciting prize package that includes:
• $5,000 cash prize
• Official trophy
• Professional studio recording time with Millennia Digital Sound & Lighting
• Regional media tour
• Exclusive performance opportunities throughout the area
